YOU SHOULD KNOWSun Protection in the WinterWhile the sun’s rays are not as strong in the winter, they can still cause skin cancer. If you spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter, or even riding in a car, then you should still wear a sun protection cream on your face. Winter sun, especially when magnified by snow, can still cause damage to your skin, and increase your risk of skin cancer. The sun coming through the windows of your vehicle can also harm your skin. Because we do need Vitamin D, and our exposure to the sun in winter tends to be less, getting some sun each day is a good idea. But if you are spending the day on the slopes, or are in the car for prolonged periods, then wear sunblock.
